Open Access Youth Club

The open-access youth provision at YMCA Cardiff is a crucial community service offering a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for young people to socialise, learn, and grow outside formal education

Accessibility: Open to all young people between the ages of 11 and 18 regardless of background, abilities, or circumstances, ensuring inclusivity and a welcoming environment.

Safe Environment: We prioritise safety and well-being with secure, supervised spaces, and trained staff and volunteers to maintain a safe atmosphere.

Engaging Activities: Open Access offers diverse activities such as sports, arts, music, gaming, and educational sessions on health, well-being, and life skills.

Informal Support and Guidance: We provide informal support and guidance, with staff and volunteers available to listen, offer advice, and connect young people to relevant resources.

Peer Interaction and Socialisation: Our Youth Clubs encourage peer interaction, helping young people build friendships and social skills in a supportive setting, fostering confidence, resilience, and a sense of community.

Youth-Led Approach: We are proud of our youth-led approach involving young people in decision-making and programming, ensuring the provision is relevant, engaging, and tailored to their needs and preferences.
