We had a wonderful #teaandtalk event yesterday at Café 180 where we took some time out to chat and relax in support of our wellbeing and good mental health on #WorldMentalHealthDay.

A huge thanks to our wonderful Senior Youth Worker, Abbie, for facilitating the event. Abbie is a great advocate for looking after our mental health and as a YMCA #YouthAmbassadors really champions the importance of taking care and being kind to ourselves.

Today, we join people around the globe to recognise World Mental Health Day – a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health.

At YMCA Cardiff, we work to understand and address the challenges young people and adults face in maintaining their mental wellbeing, especially when dealing with homelessness, family breakdowns, or caring responsibilities. That’s why we provide support that goes beyond housing. Through our housing support, youth clubs, mentoring schemes, and healthy relationships projects, we create safe spaces for individuals to express themselves and get the help they need.

We're looking for a dynamic Youth Project Coordinator to join our Y’s Girls Mentoring Programme, based in the Vale of Glamorgan! If you're passionate about empowering young girls and improving their mental health and well-being, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors.
- Support vulnerable girls through group activities, and positive interventions.
- Build partnerships with local schools, social workers, and grassroots organisations.
- Manage project data and contribute to national best practices.
